Hi, I'm Vasiliki. Through fun and engaging lessons, I hope to assist students to reach their full potential. My focus is for my students to acquire a lifelong learning mindset.

EFL & Greek Modern tutor in Mitcham, Greater London

I have almost 4 years of experience teaching primarily English in various contexts, online and in a classroom setting. I have taught various age groups of students with young adults like myself being the primary one.

For the past 4 years, I have been assisting Greek migrants to the UK and USA with their English language skills for professional and personal development, as well as for better adjustment in the target countries.

I have also supported international (primarily from South Korea) university students with their IELTS exams with 100% success.

During my stay at Sigma Ekpaideutiki A.E., a language school in North Greece, I was in charge of various age groups (9-38) of learners of English.

I oversaw designing, preparing, and delivering the lessons as well as assessing their work and progress in the form of mid-term, final grades, and practice tests according to the standards of the school and depending on the examination guidelines the C2 candidates were aiming for (IELTS, FCE, ECPE, ESB, LRN, MSU).

In addition, I participated in setting and marking examinations and coursework as appropriate, including attending examiners’ meetings since I was one of 5 other teachers with experience in language exams.

I strive to provide feedback to students, to enable them to assess their own performance and suggest learning objectives that will enable them to develop professionally and personally.

As part of an AIESEC project, I volunteered as a Teacher of English at IPSSEOA Karol Wojtyla in Catania Italy. I taught English to middle and high school students studying tourism and how to use English efficiently for excellent service. I also aimed at providing a different cultural experience by teaching English through presenting aspects of the Greek culture.

During my English teaching traineeship at the Hellenic American Educational Foundation in Athens, Greece, I observed and assisted with in-class work, as well as planned and delivered two 45 minute lessons and 4 individual activities in 4 different elementary schools classes, grades 4 to 6.

Finally, I assisted in planning a children’s theatrical play, “The Power of W.O.W.”, which was received with great success.
