I have taught the Romanian language for over 12 years. My approach is a mix of grammar rules and conversation, with various vocabulary slants according to the interests of students. I also pay particular attention to how a language sounds.

I have an enduring interest in languages. The best teaching style is helping students learn a language in its cultural context. Thus a list of nouns is not just a dry list, which is sure to make demands on our memory. It becomes something richer in a cultural context, and ultimately more memorable. I have mostly taught students who prepare to work and live in Romania (MOD and FCOD employees), academics, charity workers, and linguists. Also I regularly teach students who simply want to better understand the background of their partners.
I have experience taking absolute beginners to a good level of fluency (B2, on to C1, and beyond).

I have taught English (GCSE level) to Syrian and Ukrainian refugees for the past five years.

I have taught Beginners Spanish to many English speaking students who wanted to visit / spend time in Spain.
