Showlin Rafa

My name is Rafa and I teach Maths and Sciences. I am very friendly and I make my lessons interactive. My curriculum and approach is personalised for each student to match their school's curriculum and to accommodate the student's style of learning.

I have been tutoring KS2 students for 4 years and GCSE students for 2 years. I picked up a few things about teaching through trial and error. I try to make my lessons interactive through questions and anecdotes. I found it to be effective in keeping the students engaged in the lesson. It also helps them remember key information for longer. I have my own curriculum for teaching a subject but I make sure to keep in touch with the school’s timeline. This way, I can supplement what they are learning at school as well as stay ahead of school’s curriculum. Being a student myself, I can empathise with my students and understand their needs. I try my best to give them answers to the questions they are hesitant to ask. Above all, my goal is to make the subject enjoyable while getting good grades. I am particularly passionate about science and I hope to help others see the beauty of it.
