Teaching experience
I have taught throughout the UK, UAE and to multiple international students worldwide. I like to use my language and differentiation skills where possible to ensure my lesson learning environment is both exciting and inclusive. I have and still teach students from ages 11 to 21, which includes some university students. In my lessons, I like to focus on key terminology, key practicals (such as ‘Making Aspirin’ in Chemistry) and relatable/overlapping concepts. This way students can pick apart any exam question and ensure they answer it fully. I have taken students through graded exams and helped them secure the grades required for university.
My style of teaching involves relating key concepts to real world situations, providing a context to the learning that is being undertaken. I like to use recent exam questions to ensure my students not only have the key knowledge, real world applications and critical thinking capabilities, but they can also apply this to any exam question and gain the grades they deserve.
I like to use a lot of visuals in my lessons, as I think it is important to relate areas of science such as DNA, Protein Structure and Organic Chemistry to images and videos that demonstrate what and why these structures and concepts look and act like they do. This also makes the learning experience more enjoyable and relatable to careers students might undertake in the future.
I have a strong subject knowledge in science and maths and excellent awareness of scientific concepts that are most likely to appear in exam questions. I am currently finishing an MRes in Stem Cell Biochemistry and Regenerative Medicine whilst I teach, and I am due to start a PhD in ‘Computational Chemistry’ this October, meaning my subject knowledge is not only fresh, but also being constantly topped up with the latest in scientific research. I am passion about my subjects, and I am always eager to share my subject knowledge and skills with students, ensuring they are prepared for GCSE and A-level exams. I am also happy to share extra knowledge/tips to students hoping to study courses such as medicine and scientific research, and those hoping to one day become scientists and write research papers.

TESTIMONIAL
This is a reference from a private student when Shahid joined TeachTutti
Shahid, speaking from personal experience, is an excellent tutor. The amount of progress I've made in such a short period of time is incredible. He has made topics which I've found difficult a lot easier to understand, thanks to clear and concise instructions coupled with question walk throughs (plus a bit of humour to make it memorable). He fosters an atmosphere wherein I'm not afraid to ask questions and that is invaluable when seeking tuition and so I would highly recommend him as a tutor for anyone who needs a bit of help.
