Understanding the key concepts of mathematics is an essential life skill. I have the ability and desire to develop and promote this understanding, especially with students who find maths challenging. With the right support, everyone can do maths.

With a passion for all aspects of maths, I have worked within a maths environment my whole life: in retail merchandising for 17 years, applying mathematics to business decisions, for 10 years as a Year 6 Classroom Teacher and more recently as a one-to-one Maths Tutor. I am currently tutoring students from Year 6 - Year 11. I particularly focus on developing my students confidence in mathematics. My sessions involve a lot of discussion and working through maths problems together. Encouraging students to have a go and not to be afraid of making mistakes is key to success in the subject: we learn, develop and, ultimately achieve more, as a result of these experiences. Within the classroom environment all my students made good progress and now, working one-to-one with students means significant progress is achievable for each and every one of them.
