I have almost twenty years’ experience teaching English Literature and Language as a private tutor and as a classroom-based teacher. I have a passionate interest in the study of the subject, as a teacher and practising writer. I have more than seven years’ experience as an Associate Examiner of GCSE English Literature, Higher Tier. I specialise in the tutoring of GCSE and A Level students. I also have extensive experience teaching students with EHCPs to successfully pass their English Literature and Language GCSEs. I have also provided proofreading and editorial advice to postgraduate students with their dissertations.

It is always my goal to help students maximise their talents. I endeavour to guide them and enhance their confidence in their understanding of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, the structuring of their essays, the development of their thought processes in responding to questions, and in encouraging them to improve their powers of self-expression when engaging with texts and related tasks in their written work.
