I teach Mathematics at GCSE and KS3 level. I dissolve difficult concepts into fragments using visual aids and exemplar questions to ensure a solid grasp of the topic, also adopting a flexible attitude toward each student according to their capabilities.

I have a profound teaching experience spanning ages thirteen to sixteen, the average age range for candidates sitting the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus. From 2021 to 2023, I coached three students in Mathematics in Kenya, all of which successfully achieved an A to A*, an equivalent to a 7 to 9 in the GCSE grading system.

I highly esteem my teaching approach as it has effectively steered my students through their examinations. At the beginning of each lesson, I carve out the main objectives from sequential syllabus topics, ensuring each concept is thoroughly explored. I take the students through topics by initially explaining the content using whiteboards so that the students can effectively understand and internalise the concept by note-taking. I also strongly believe in adapting my teaching approach to the needs and skills of different students. For example, a flexible approach can entail focusing more heavily on visual aids such as videos and diagrams as well as items used as props for counting and the like, for students who learn better visually. Finally, since Mathematics is a more practical subject than others, practice questions and past papers must be used to prove the student's grasp of the content and confidently prepare them for the exam.
