Teaching experience
I previously spent one year working full-time as a private tutor in Dubai, where I provided first-rate services tailored to the needs of my clients to help them achieve their educational goals, including schoolwork, revision and entrance examination tutoring, and supporting them with scheduling and timetables. During this time I taught over 20 students between the ages of 7 and 18 in a variety of subjects, mainly focussing on the following:
- Mathematics: University applications and entrance examinations, A Level (including Further Maths), International Baccalaureate (HL and SL), GCSE, KS3
- Physics: University applications, A Level, GCSE, KS3
- Chemistry and English: Up to GCSE level
I successfully increased the grades of my students, one of which saw their physics grade rise from a C to an A. My most notable feedback from clients besides success rates was my ability to spark genuine interest and a newfound love of the subject from the student.
In addition, I am experienced in advising students and parents on GCSE and A Level subject choices and mentoring students through revision techniques, time management, degree options and interview techniques. I have successfully helped students attain places at top schools and universities, including Harrow and Oxbridge.
I have developed a great ability to understand why a particular topic has not been fully understood by a pupil and can find many ways to explain complex ideas in a simplistic way. I offer flexible learning and like to tailor classes to the individuals needs. I am very comfortable turning up without prior knowledge and helping students with the topics they have been studying in that particular week but am equally as capable of producing a well-thought-out schedule to work towards. I would describe myself as being very understanding and approachable.
During my university studies, I regularly volunteered in engineering and mathematics workshops, helping A Level students solve university-level problems and providing guidance on subject choices for higher education.
