Teaching experience
My aim is to give my students the skills, knowledge, and ability to develop and achieve with the violin. Every pupil is unique, in their character, physicality, and mentality. They have their own strengths and weaknesses. My teaching allows for pupils to achieve a high level of technique whilst allowing their musical identity to develop and flourish.
I have been teaching and coaching students for over twelve years, both as a 1-1 teacher and a youth orchestra tutor. My students have fantastic success at examinations, auditions, and competitions.
Technical studies include a foundation built upon scales, etudes, and exercises that are handpicked for that particular student to help progression and development.
Repertoire is studied in conjunction with technical studies, to allow the pupil to learn music with technical ease. This gives them the opportunity to develop their musical voice, whilst performing to an extremely high standard.
Physical freedom is imperative to becoming an accomplished player, therefore posture, instrument set up, and issues with tension are addressed with the utmost importance.
I teach all of my students on a 1-1 basis online via Skype or Zoom.
I studied for an undergraduate degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with Zoe Beyers, Susanne Stanzeleit, and Ulla Benz. My postgraduate studies took me to the Royal Northern College of Music, where I am completing a Masters of Music with Jim Clark, Callum Smart, and Yair Kless.
Private tuition includes lessons with Remus Azoitei and Tasmin Little.
