Joseph Derrick Santiago Dayrit

I mainly teach biology, chemistry, and physics but I also teach maths. All at GCSE and KS3. I try to break things down as simple as possible and provide a structural approach to answering questions.

I have previously taught at MyTutor for over a year with my students ranging from 13-16 years old. They were either KS3 prepping for the step up to GCSE or currently studying for their GCSE exams. I have had quite a bit of experience guiding students through past paper questions to prepare for their final exams.

I try to use structure in my lessons so that students are clear about the learning process. For example, having learning objectives which act as key focal points within the topic help students to remember content when it comes to revision. These learning objectives will encourage students to constantly relate the content they are learning to previously obtained knowledge to further consolidate their learning. Summaries are also used to once again link back to the learning objectives and allow students to ask any questions they have about what they have learnt or didn quite understand. I also believe in the lessons being focused on the student and asking them questions about how they feel about the subject so that they can take charge and be responsible for their own learning.
