Previously a secondary school French teacher, I currently work as a French instructor in a primary school for children aged 4 to 11 years old. I also tutor privately online, in my home in person and - depending on location - at the students home.

- 5 years in two secondary schools teaching French to A Level and German to GCSE, including organising and leading school trips to France and Germany (Schenfield High School - Essex and The Boswells school - Chelmsford Essex from 1994 to 1997 and 1997 to 1999)

- Teaching French to children 4 to 11 year old in a primary school since Januray 2017 (Rayleigh Primary School - Essex)

- Private tutor in French to primary school, GCSE and A Level students as well as adults since 2017

My teaching experience across a wide range of levels has been invaluable in making sure my private lessons respond to individual needs and objectives.

I have been tutoring children from primary school for the past 6 years, using songs, games, role plays and short stories to engage the children and give them confidence to learn basic vocabulary and structures and build their knowledge. I get them to develop their speaking skills right from the beginning through repetition and practice.

I also tutor GCSE and A Level students, supporting them with exam practice, grammar and reinforcement across the 4 skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing, giving them encouragement and confidence with their pronunciation, whilst focusing on aspects they most need support with.

Im happy to tutor adults who wish to brush up their skills for work or travel purposes, developing conversational skills across a range of every day topics as well as covering the basics. I use texts and audio files to develop comprehension skills and cultural awareness.

I try to keep it varied and lively, making sure that the language is spoken by the student as much as possible every lesson whatever the level they are working at.
