On the academic front, I have experience of 32 years' of teaching and tutoring in many different forms and in different institutions, private and state, religious, and secular.

I have learned to adapt my approach depending on the child's background and ability, as well as their initial level of commitment and enthusiasm. What works for one child will not necessarily work for all.
For the nuts and bolts of teaching, I am capable of writing my own schemes of work or adapting ones I find. Planning is a critical stage and there needs to be both an overview of what I am hoping to achieve in a Term or Year, but also attention to the detail in the daily lessons. {References available on request from schools where planning was necessary - for example when Port authorities delayed release of books, or where Schemes of work had to be designed}.
This will include being aware of which previous skills are needed for students to achieve success on the current concept, as well as at the higher end being aware of those that will be needing more challenging work, whilst maintaining their interest levels too.

I have regularly taken students from start to Exams for Functional Skills, GCSE, IGCSE and some IB revision plus Pure or Core Maths. A Levels.
