Hi, Im Ethan, a First-Class Honours Mathematics graduate from The University of Birmingham. I have 7 years of experience tutoring with over 4000 lessons delivered. I enjoy teaching all exam boards for GCSE, A-level and IB maths.

I successfully completed a teaching internship with Bishop Challoner Training School Alliance during the summer of 2021 where I gained real classroom experience teaching mathematics to secondary school students of all abilities and ages.

My aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of all the topics rather than just memorising methods. This tried and tested approach consistently enables my students to attain top grades.

At the beginning of every topic, I check the student’s understanding through a range of techniques. Once a starting point has been established, I use a mixture of exam and textbook questions to fully engage with the student. I have a wide range of resources and free textbooks available which I teach and use to set homework at the end of every lesson. Homework is crucial to practice content covered in lessons, to develop a greater depth of understanding which, in turn, boosts grades.

Additionally, during my final year at university, I undertook a teaching-based dissertation. I analysed the evolution of distance learning and the benefits of using online mathematics resources in UK secondary schools. By examining the academic literature surrounding distance mathematics learning, I am uniquely equipped with the knowledge and tools required to maximise student satisfaction through my online mathematics lessons.
