Teaching experience
I have over 6 years of experience as a private tutor and teacher. I have helped students at A level enter top UK and US universities including the University of Cambridge, Bristol, St Andrews and New York University. I have taught as an A level teacher at a private one-on-one tutorial college and been an examiner. I have also home-schooled students. I am experienced with SEN students. I have degrees in the History of Art from the University of Cambridge and the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a Masters in Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I am a freelance opera singer. I was born in London but have dual British-French nationality and I am bilingual.
I teach the History of Art at A level and at university level, as well as to those interested in the discipline at any age and level. I teach all periods and styles and specialise particularly in 20th century Modernism, the Italian Renaissance and visual analysis. My classes are structured around analysis of artworks and periods using Powerpoint slides, analysis of art historical texts or detailed discussion of my students essays. My lessons are highly tailored to each students individual needs and interests and I am constantly renewing my materials and methods to best suit you.
I teach Singing to students of all ages and at all levels and styles. While I specialise in classical singing, I teach the fundamentals of optimal singing technique and I firmly believe that these principles are the key to excellent singing at all levels and for all styles. These principles include: optimal posture and alignment of the body free of unnecessary tension; excellent and consistent breath support and singing with the whole body; beauty and evenness of tone across the registers; precise and clear articulation in all languages.
My approach is holistic and singing is ultimately the union of the mind and body. Through training and application of the technique it is my mission to guide my students to the expressive freedom they are after. Singing is above all communication and I help my students get in touch with and express their true, authentic voice. I am also passionate about acting and can help you work on your singing and performing (or on any text) through the lens of the character you are portraying. As a singer you are an interpreter and not simply a creator of beautiful sound. Technique is the tool we use to serve the art.
I teach French at A level, at GCSE level and I also give conversation classes. In my lessons I cover essential grammar and help students with their reading, writing, listening and speaking. I love to discuss all aspects of French culture and heritage with my students and can give recommendations to suit individual interests.
I teach English Language and English Literature IGCSE. I help students with all aspects of the English Language exam, training their reading and comprehension skills to their directed writing and creative compositions. I also help students find a deeper understanding of the set texts on the Literature syllabus and guide students into finding their own elegant and precise writing style.

TESTIMONIAL
This is a reference from a private student when Charlotte joined TeachTutti
I've first met Charlotte when I've applied for History of Art at Cambridge in 2021. After just one lesson I knew she was the perfect teacher. Always full of ideas and ways to encourage me to further my knowledge. On each lesson she provided me with new ways to look at art, appreciate it and analyse it. Throughout the lesson she would always find ways to address my issues and conerns if I haven't understood something. What I really loved about my lessons with Charlotte is that she listened and actively participated in the discussions, not dismissing my opinions as amateur or unknolewdgeable. She also followed up on my interests whenever I mentioned them by including them or topics related to them into our lessons. Overall it was a tremendous pleasure working with Charlotte and I really hope others have the opportunity to learn with her as well.

I had Charlotte last year for my French GCSEs. She was not only a great teacher but also the most wonderful person! She is patient and enthusiastic and taught me things ranging from grammar to culture. Thanks to Charlotte I got a very high 9 in the end :)
