Teaching experience
I have nearly a decades worth of experience teaching in many capacities, schools and institutions..
I have been Team Teacher and Art Co-ordinator at an independent school in central London working specifically with SEND children. I initially trained at the school while working for a charity and it was through this positive experience that I was invited back in a free-lance capacity. I also worked as Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art as part of the team of lecturers, technicians and academic staff in the Jewellery and Metal Department within the School of Humanities at the RCA. Further more, I have been aFreelance Workshop Leader, giving workshops to children aged 5-9 at an independent gallery and art space called Bright Emporium.
I have also worked for the Creative Mentor Foundation Charity, being was placed at Grey Coats Hospital School for girls after training at Fairley House School. My role was to deliver creative, art-based projects to the students (ranging in age from 11 years old to 16) who had learning differences including dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism as well as some physical disabilities. I assisted in teaching lessons, giving talks to students, taking the students on trips and helping them individually and collectively to engage with art and design. The role included excellent training through OCR lectures about Dyslexia and Dyspraxia in primary schools, equipping me to build-up the strategies and schemes of work I use everyday.
During my time as an MA student I worked at Dulwich College as Artist in Residence, housed in the Art Department, I worked in cross-curricular ways bringing new, broader as well as specialist artistic practice and experiences to both students and teachers.
