I teach in Accounting, Finance, and Business. I am highly skilled and have enjoyed doing so at all levels- Beginner, Foundation, HND, Undergrad, pre-Masters, Postgrad & Professional, AAT, ACCA, CIMA. I love encouraging active participation. TEAM!!

I love my subject and constantly encourage learners to engage and gain new skills, building each time on their knowledge, on a progressive basis. I show enthusiasm and use imagination to motivate learners to participate well in class and to promote their learning outside the classes, by communicating very clearly in English, both verbally and in writing in simple, straightforward terms that can be understood easily.

I enjoy working with diverse groups of students, many with little prior knowledge of Accounting/Finance. The delight is in seeing their ‘light-bulbs’ kindle with new-found knowledge. This is my signal that I continue to make a difference. I build groups to work together as a team to complete set tasks.

I am well-qualified and a very experienced lecturer; I worked in industry as Accountant/Management Consultant for some 15 years. I have since taught adult learners for some 28 years now.

This combination gives me a consistent, relevant and high-quality experience in class/virtual/tutorial to support learners using eye-catching and stimulating materials on the VLE (Blackboard; Moodle).

I lead, following my scheme of work; I am always well prepared and organised, so setting a valid example to be followed. I devise assessments to widen student perspectives by setting relevant and practical tasks/assessments; case studies and examinations, where weaker students have the chance to pass, as questions progressively build on knowledge gained from across the syllabus, holistically, step by step.

I have received throughout a high volume of positive feedback, student satisfaction and excellent results on all work that I deliver.

I adapt to any learners’ needs and mixed abilities, showing empathy and working well to elicit the best from all by building progressively on strengths. I adapt my language according to the learner audience, using different, interchangeable words to convey meaning, tested by questioning and feedback.
