I mainly teach GCSE and A Level Mathematics but can also offer GCSE Physics tutoring. My style of teaching is to provoke thought in my students rather than to give them the method or answer. Understanding is fundamental in every step.

Since the age of 16, I have always been involved in tutoring in some way, whether that be presenting a GCSE history PowerPoint to a class of students in my school or tutoring 1-on-1 to help a pupil in AS Further Mathematics. During my time at sixth-form, I had first-hand experience tutoring disadvantaged pupils from two secondary schools in Maths and built their confidence up enough to improve their performance in classes as well as to pass their GCSEs.

During my gap year, I dedicated myself to improving my in-person tutoring and tutored Maths and English for Explore Learning, in which many parents were extremely satisfied at the enthusiasm their children gained about learning while also thriving academically! At university, I have tutored many students online in GCSE, iGCSE, IB and A Level mathematics and have had extremely positive outcomes across the board, helping them to achieve the grades they needed to progress to the next level.

My teaching approach involves understanding every bit of mathematics that goes into a problem to ensure students can take their own logical steps to solve the problem, rather than relying on memorising a method. From experience, this tends to have a more positive effect on retaining that information for later use than memorising as the student can retrace those logical steps as they have thoroughly understood the subject. Once this has been put to practice, I will usually revisit the subject after a while to consolidate it!
