I have been teaching in primary schools covering all subjects - my specialist areas are early years, maths, phonics, MFL German and French. I assess where students are at as a starting point and try and make learning fun and engaging.

I have taught in both state and independent schools in Hertfordshire as a class teacher and supply cover for over 20 years. I have taught early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 so am familiar with how to reach students in these year groups. I have been tutoring Key Stage 1 and 2 children in English and maths online and face to face, assessing and helping them with different skills, supporting and extending what they are learning at school.
I started teaching in early years and realised the importance of play and engaging children in their learning. I have taken this on board throughout my teaching up to Year 6 as I found that when students are playing suitable games or engaged in fun activities mixed in with more formal teaching and learning, it consolidates what they have learnt.
