As a student myself, I understand the struggles we go through - I have understood what works and what doesnt work! I primarily teach Maths, but also enjoy teaching History and French. My main goal is to create a fun and effective learning space.

I have taught in various circumstances. I started tutoring through tutoring company and during my time there, I worked with children from ages 5-16. I also taught a GCSE French student privately and helped him go from a grade 5 to a grade 7 - more importantly, I helped him gain the confidence to speak French and be comfortable. My most recent experience was teaching a student GCSE Maths. I taught him for just under a year, starting in the summer of 2021, and helped prepare him for his GCSEs in 2022. At the beginning of our sessions, he severely disliked maths, in particular, he hated Algebra. However, through our consistent teaching schedule, where we focused on one topic per week of tutoring, he was able to gain confidence in his mathematical ability. By the end of our sessions, he was able to factorise and expand quadratics in his head! This was something he could never believe he would be able to do. His grades also increased from a grade 4 to a grade 7, through his mocks but his actual GCSE results are yet to come out! My approach revolves around creating a comfortable and fun learning atmosphere because I understand how tough school can be sometimes and I want the pupil to know, that I am just there to help. In the summer of 2021, I also taught KS2 English and Maths. By creating a friendly atmosphere, I helped a child, who was quite behind in her learning due to Covid, gain confidence in the classroom. Her English skills improved massively and whilst I only taught her for a while, it was clear that her writing and speaking had improved massively. I believe that consistent and regular sessions in a friendly environment are the key to success, no matter the age, or level of a child! I understand that every child learns differently, so I prepare adaptable lessons, specific to what their strengths and weaknesses are.
