Each tutor decides his or her own rates for lessons depending on levels of experience and qualifications. It is up to you to decide the right rates - bear in mind that high charges may put off prospective students. TeachTutti vets each profile before it goes live to ensure only validated experience and qualifications are presented to students. TeachTutti provides tuition on all subjects for which there is a demand. There is obviously more demand for core subjects likes Maths and English, but there is always some level of demand for every subject listed, no matter how obscure. Many tutors teach more than one subject: you can select any subjects you have qualifications for to be shown on your profile.

Tutors are paid weekly by bank transfer for all lessons completed over the past week. Invoices are submitted on the platform using the TeachTutti billing system - it's simple to use and takes just a moment. Remember to invoice promptly after each lessons to guarantee payment.

A student will search our platform for a tutor in their subject. If they are interested in your profile, the student will normally message you through TeachTutti - a quick reply is the best way to move things forward. If the enquiry is a good fit, the student will make a booking request: you can accept or request a different time if the booking date doesn't work. All following lessons are arranged directly with the student, while TeachTutti handle the ongoing billing and admin.

TeachTutti runs a variety of campaigns, including the use of Google Adwords, Search Engine Optimisation and marketing through social media. Some of these campaigns are generic, covering all subjects, while some are subject specific or related to particular events or special promotions. We also run a programme to recognise and reward those tutors who demonstrate exceptional quality and commitment – this status is called “TopTutors”

You can easily hide your profile in search results from your account. When ready, you can then show your profile. Being fully booked is the most common reason why tutors turn down students - it's far better to avoid this by hiding your profile. The same applies when tutors have extended periods away from teaching, such as for travelling. We ask that you to hide your profile until you are ready to take on new enquiries. TeachTutti’s aim is that a student search will only show those tutors who are able to teach.

A tutor can always turn down a student for other reasons, such as if they think they are unsuited to the student’s particular learning needs. In these circumstances we ask that you always respond to the booking enquiry to retain your response rating.

Toptutor status recognises those tutors who excel in their teaching. They are shown higher in search results, can be selected as a search filter, and are highlighted with this status on their profile. The criteria to become a Toptutor includes responding promptly to all messages and bookings, claiming for lessons promptly, and holding a high review ranking.
