TeachTutti prepares a spotlight for tutors who stand out. We promote these spotlights widely on social media and they are shown in Google search results. This gives the tutor more exposure and increases the likelihood of receiving student enquiries.
A tutor needs to fit the criteria for a Spotlight (see below). If a tutor is not initially eligible, they can receive a spotlight at a later date after optimising their profile. Facebook is prioritised for distribution of tutor spotlights.
A spotlight is different to having Toptutor status, although there are similarities. Toptutor status is based on the quality of a tutor's teaching and the rating from student reviews. In contrast, a spotlight focusses more on the quality of the tutor's profile, so that a spotlght can be prepared and promoted for new tutors who have just joined TeachTutti.
How to quality for a spotlight
To quality for a spotlight, a tutor profile needs the following:
- A compelling narrative, describing the tutor's approach to teaching, their teaching experience and the range of qualifications that make them an authority in their chosen subjects.
- A high-quality photograph that is of sufficient quality, engaging and positive.
- At least one positive review from a student or someone who can comment favourably on the tutor's capability.
- An enhanced DBS check
The spotlight is prepared within a TeachTutti template and promoted in Facebook community groups around the tutor's local area. The tutor can share the spotlight as widely as possible and encourage others to do so. The more widely the spotlight is shared, the greater the impact is likely to be.
TeachTutti will also display the spotlight in Google search results. The spotlight will be listed as a Product and key points about the tutor will be advertised, including the price range, subjects taught, location and teaching preferences. A link to the tutor profile will be included.
A spotlight can be prepared at any time while the tutor is with TeachTutti - there is no limit on the number of times it can be done. However, TeachTutti will only prepare one spotlight a week on its Facebook business page.
