Your response rate and response time show how quickly and consistently you reply to messages and booking requests. They are shown on your profile, affect where you are listed in search results and are a criteria for Toptutor status. You can find your response rate on your tutor account.
Response rate
Your response rate is the percentage of new messages you reply to. It measures your response to booking requests (either by accepting, declining or requesting date change) within 48 hours before the request is cancelled.
If a user sends you a message on the TeachTutti message platform, you need to reply within 24 hours to maintain your response rate. If you receive a booking request, you need to respond within 48 hours to maintain your response rate.
Improving response rate
To improve your response rate and time, do the following as you can after receiving a message or booking request:
- Accept/decline/request new date for booking requests
- Reply to new messages from users
Replies to messages after 72 hours and replies to booking requests after 48 hours count as a late response, which will lower your response rate and increase your response time. Your response rate will affect where you are shown in search results.
Your response rate is only affected by booking requests and messages from new users. It won't be affected by ongoing conversations and messages between a tutor and an active student. Your response rate won't be affected if you don't send the final message in a conversation.
Response time
Your response time is the average amount of time that it took for you to respond to all new messages. The response breakdown is:
- "being calculated" (this is the initial response time - it will change when you receive your first message or booking)
- "within an hour"
- "within a few hours"
- "a few days or more"
